MIKCo’s Demo Program offers paddlers a chance to try a choice of sea kayaks on the water from our base on PeaksIsland. This is a real-world experience. You will have a chance to sit in a variety of boats appropriate for your sizing, and to feel the differences in fit and hull performance on the water. One of our trained instructors will inform and guide your demo experience. We will educate you about our Fit, Form, Function, Feel Fun method of analyzing an appropriate boat for your needs, physique, and abilities.

These are educational, practical, helpful sessions that require a firm commitment of time and energy on your and our part. If you have done business with MIKCo before OR are honestly interested in trying our boats on the water, for a possible purchase, there is no charge, no fee. However, if you are just beginning the process of learning about boats, their function, fit and feel on the water and are just here to learn from your experience and our expertise, then we ask you to tell us and to pay a small stipend of $50 for this multi hour session, which will be applied if you later purchase from us. It’s worth it.

Paddlers are responsible for themselves while on the water, must sign a release and be physically able to engage in paddling in Maine’s cooler waters and realistic conditions.
